Louise was bitten by another child at school today. She was unfazed as of pick-up time but she has some nasty marks on her arm from the biter. He almost broke the skin. Apparently she cried when it happened but she's fine now.
The biter is relatively new to the classroom and has just as of yesterday been identified as a biter. The teachers are on to it now and it shouldn't happen again.
I sympathize with them and the kid that bites because just a couple of months ago it was Louise who was the biter.
I know that the biting is a product of a kid dealing with transition, dealing with lots of other kids, and not being able to express himself verbally.
Anyhoo, Louise is OK and now she really knows that what we've told her before is true: Biting hurts!
