We had a great weekend putzing around at home. We cooked out every night and enjoyed our time on the patio. It's great out there now that we have knocked down the old awning and brick wall. We also got a little patio fire pit and some new patio furniture so we are really styling for summer. Mike took the dangerous pile of rubbish to the dump so it's fairly kid-friendly out there, too!
The hills are alive with the sound of cicadas. It sounds like every car alarm in the county is going off at once. Actually, it's not unpleasant, and Louise and Hector are really enjoying finding them everywhere. Louise plays with the shells and talks to the live ones, and Hector eats them. There are half eaten cicadas all over the place thanks to good old Hector. I feel so bad for them for having lived underground for 17 years to come out and meet their fate with Hector, the fat and lazy cat.
There is a dead mole in our front yard, too (hey Mike, weren't you going to get that for us?) so I guess maybe Hector isn't that lazy after all.
