More winter visitors

This weekend my old pal Tracey (from 6th grade!) came up from Durham to visit us. We hadn't seen each other in 15 years, but it was easy and fun to catch up again. She tolerated me as I dragged her all over the place running errands and shopping for Louise's new big girl mattress and bedding. We did our fair share of eating, talking, playing, and poring over old photos. I enjoyed getting to know her again and her cute little dog, Zoe, pictured below. Louise was crazy about Tracey and Zoe and she's still talking about them.

As Tracey was taking off yesterday, the snow started to fall. Louise woke from her nap to find big, fat snowflakes all over the place. She insisted on going outside. Here are a few photos from our snowy outing. It's still snowing off and on here. Nice enough to look pretty, but the roads are still in good shape.

Today we visited with our pals, the Moody's, who just had a baby 3 weeks ago. Rob, the dad, is an old pal of mine from college. Lindsay, the mom, is a mom friend from our playgroup. EllaGrey, the 2 year old, is one of Louise's partners in noisy crime at playgroup. And Corrinne is the newest member of the family. She was tiny and adorable. Everyone was healthy and happy and when we got there, they were all waving goodbye to George W. Bush on TV.

We've been listening all morning to inauguration coverage and we sat by the TV as Obama delivered his speech. I told Louise she was witnessing history but she just giggled as she said Barack Obama's name over and over again. She thinks that his name is hilarious and loved hearing it a hundred times today over the radio. I got choked up and teared up a few times. One day Louise will understand the magnitude of the event.
