Mountain house

Louise and I had a great time at Ma's mountain house this weekend. We stayed there with cousins Katherine, Meredith, Wendy, Bronwyn, and Elijah. Louise had a blast! She loved being surrounded by family, especially the twins. You can see them above, playing "Critter in the Candy," a game that my cousins and I loved to play when we were little.
It was so great to stay in the cabin again after all of these years. A double treat to be able to share it with Louise. I hope that we get a chance to go back and stay there with Mike soon. We really missed Daddy.
The leaves were starting to change up there, and the weather was great. It was hot during the day, in the sun. And it was chilly in the mornings and evenings.
Saturday morning Elijah caught a big fish at the pond. He showed up all of the men who tried to catch one all weekend. After that we went to the Todd General Store and had a picnic by the New River. To the twins' delight, the leaves fell from the trees and danced in the air like snowflakes. In the afternoon, we napped and lounged, just like you are supposed to do at the mountain house. That evening we all had a great supper and the kids all took baths and snuggled in for the night. Mere and Kath went for a spooky hayride and brought back googly eyes for the twins.
